DOVIRA EXPERTISE · CULTURAL DIPLOMACY & PROGRAMS

Culture can travel. Relevance has to be built locally.

An exhibition, film, concert, literary program or cultural initiative may already have a strong identity in its country of origin. Bringing it to Latin America requires something different: context, local relationships, production capability and an audience.

DOVIRA structures and coordinates the local ecosystem needed to turn cultural objectives into programs that can actually happen — and matter.

THE REALITY
The content exists.
The cultural objective is clear.
The institution wants to reach a new audience.
Then the local questions begin.

Where should the program take place? Which museum, theatre, university, festival or cultural institution makes sense? Who can produce it locally? How should the content be contextualized? Who communicates it? And who brings the audience into the room?

Cultural programs rarely fail because the original idea is weak. They become difficult when a strong idea has to interact with a different institutional, cultural and operational environment.

A successful international program therefore requires more than exporting content. It requires building a local context around it.

Cultural presence is not created by bringing something in. It is created by connecting it locally.
WHERE IT GETS DIFFICULT

Every cultural program depends on a local ecosystem.

01
Context

Understanding how a cultural proposal should be positioned and interpreted within the local environment.

02
Institutions

Identifying the museums, venues, universities, festivals and organizations capable of becoming meaningful local partners.

03
Production

Coordinating technical, logistical, artistic and operational resources required to deliver the program locally.

04
Audience

Connecting the initiative with media, communities, institutions and audiences that can give the program relevance.

05
Continuity

Turning a single event into relationships and opportunities that remain useful after the program ends.

THE DOVIRA APPROACH

We build the local program around the cultural objective.

DOVIRA does not need to own a theatre, production company, gallery, festival or communications agency.

Our role is to understand what the institution wants to achieve, define the local model and bring together the partners, specialists and capabilities required to make the program work.
01
FRAME

Understand the cultural objective, audience, context and desired institutional impact.

02
LOCALIZE

Adapt format, language, narrative and implementation to the local cultural environment.

03
CONNECT

Identify venues, institutions, curators, producers and potential program partners.

04
PRODUCE

Coordinate local production, logistics, technical services and operational delivery.

05
ACTIVATE

Build visibility and audience through institutions, media, communities and complementary programming.

06
EXTEND

Use the program to develop relationships and future cultural or institutional opportunities.

WHAT A PROJECT CAN LOOK LIKE

Building a cultural season around one country.

Imagine a cultural institution that wants to increase awareness of its country’s contemporary culture in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay.

Rather than organizing one isolated event, the objective could be to create a coordinated cultural program capable of connecting different audiences, disciplines and local institutions.
01
OBJECTIVE & PROGRAM CONCEPT Define themes, audiences, disciplines, markets and institutional goals.
02
LOCAL INSTITUTIONAL MAPPING Identify museums, cinemas, universities, festivals, theatres and cultural partners aligned with the program.
03
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT Combine exhibitions, screenings, performances, conversations, literature or academic activities around a shared narrative.
04
PRODUCTION Coordinate venues, logistics, technical suppliers, localization, contracts and local delivery.
05
AUDIENCE ACTIVATION Connect the program with media, cultural communities, universities, creators and local audiences.
06
CONTINUITY Use the relationships created by the program to identify future collaborations and institutional opportunities.
BUILT AROUND THE RIGHT PROGRAM MODEL

There is more than one way to build cultural presence.

Some initiatives require a dedicated local production. Others work better through an existing festival, museum, university, cultural institution or established program.

A touring exhibition may need a museum partner. A film program may gain greater relevance inside an established festival. A concert can become more valuable when connected with educational or institutional activities.

DOVIRA evaluates the route that gives the initiative the strongest local context. Depending on the objective, we can coordinate the program directly or develop collaborations with established institutions, producers and specialized partners.

The objective is not to impose a production model. It is to find the combination of content, institutions, production and audience that gives the program the greatest opportunity to create meaningful presence.

Different cultural objectives require different local models. We build the one that makes sense for the program.
THE ECOSYSTEM

One cultural objective. Many local capabilities.

DOVIRA coordinates the solution while each program activates the institutions and specialists required by its format, audience and context.

From one cultural initiative to an ongoing regional program.

SINGLE PROGRAM

One objective. One local implementation.

Ideal for exhibitions, screenings, performances, festivals, cultural events or individual institutional initiatives.

CULTURAL SEASON OR PROGRAM

Connect multiple activities around a shared cultural narrative.

Suitable for cultural institutes, embassies and institutions developing multidisciplinary programming across several audiences or markets.

ONGOING CULTURAL DEVELOPMENT

Build continuity beyond individual events.

Maintain institutional relationships, identify new opportunities and develop a more permanent cultural presence across the region.

LET’S TALK

Have a cultural program or international initiative in mind?

Tell us what your institution wants to bring to Latin America and what you want that initiative to achieve. You do not need to have the local implementation model defined. Building that model is part of the work.
